What is glamping and why you’ll love it

Camping is one of the most easy-going forms of traveling. Thanks to its relaxed nature and accessibility, it is widely beloved by many enthusiasts of outdoor recreation. However, not all of them enjoy sleeping in a cramped tent, using a shared outdoor bathroom, or the lack of running water. The solution for those more demanding tourists is, a relatively new in Poland, way of traveling called glamping. What exactly is glamping, and what should you know about it?

What is glamping?

The word ‘glamping’ combines glamour and camping. Glamping is a unique way to relax, perfect for people who appreciate the closeness of nature, but not the inconveniences of traditional camping. In other words, glamping takes camping to a new level, where campers and tents are elevated to hotel-like comfort.

Glamping is a convenient alternative to classic camping and a great way to appreciate spending time in the open air, without having to deal with the harsh conditions of the outdoors.

Glamping facilities may resemble normal camping sites, but they are enriched with numerous amenities and luxurious solutions. Contrary to traditional campsites, glamping camps have private bathrooms including a toilet, bath, or shower, as well as a spacious living room. Forget about sleeping bags and foam mattresses. The bedrooms do not only have comfortable beds, but also practical wardrobes or shelves, electronics, and attractive interior design.

Some glamping facilities are also equipped with additional entertainment elements, attractive to both adults and their young co-travelers.

Glamping in Poland

Although glam camping is still a fresh and relatively unknown trend in our country, it regularly attracts more curious tourists. A quick google search is enough to find a handful of offers for glam camping in various parts of the country.Whether you prefer the mountains, the lakes, or the sea, glamping can be done in any of your favorite regions.

The most popular glam camping facilities in Poland include luxurious glamping tents on an Alpaca farm in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship or the exclusive ‘W Bańce’ campsite in the Łódź Voivodeship. The number of facilities offering glam camping in our country is constantly growing, as is the popularity of the trend itself.

Forms of glamping

As a new and still developing form of tourism, glamping can take many forms – diversified in terms of accommodation size, available amenities, and functionalities, the living quarters can be very modern, or more rustic in style.

The most popular glamping structures are luxury tents and yurts. The spacious and extremely comfortable tents do not resemble their classic form in any way. Exclusive tents are primarily of strong and durable structure, resistant to changing weather conditions, and have enough room necessary for a comfortable rest.

A special form of such luxury tents, perfectly prepared for glamping by the lake or in the forest, are spherical tents. These originally shaped shelters give a modern twist to the classic form and will impress even the most demanding campers. Another characteristic feature of spherical tents, apart from their shape, is also their partial transparency. Thanks to this, it is possible to comfortably observe the nature during the day and at night, without having to move from your armchair inside the room.

With traditional camping, the weather makes all the difference. A couple of days of low temperatures, rain, or snow can ruin the whole trip. However, when deciding to go glamping, you do not have to pay attention to weather conditions. Most tents have air conditioning, heating, and other amenities that will make you rest and sleep through the night well. Most glamping sites are open all year round, regardless of the weather and season.

Tepee tents and treehouses

One of the most fascinating forms of glamping tents is tepee-style tents, used by the American Indians of the Plains and Great Lake regions. This type of accommodation is a great choice, especially for families with children, who will have the opportunity to learn about a new culture and its customs while having a comfortable rest.

Another captivating glamping idea is sleeping in tree houses. Cozy, fun, and exclusive, tree houses allow glamping anywhere – as long as there are trees. This type of housing is a unique opportunity to journey back to memories of childhood when almost everyone dreamed of their own asylum among the tree branches.

Staying at a cottage guarantees an exceptional sense of peace and privacy., and they are usually equipped with all the necessary amenities, for fully comfortable everyday functioning. We will find there not only comfortable bedrooms but also a modern kitchen and a bathroom.

The price of a luxury campsite

Several aspects are worth paying attention to when choosing a glamping adventure – price, location, the form of accommodation, and additional attractions. The amount that we have to spend on a holiday at a luxury campsite can vary greatly. The price for one night for two people ranges from 100 PLN to 800 PLN. There are attractive offers in all price ranges.

Glamping is an unusual, but exciting vacation idea that is definitely worth trying. Glamping is suitable for people traveling alone, as well as for couples, groups of friends, and entire families. This type of leisure offers to stay away from the city noise in a beautiful scenery and is perfect for people who care about their surroundings. Canopies, macrame (ornaments made out of braided strings), greenery, wood, and other natural elements will help you feel grounded, but will also make a great Instagram photo opportunity.

If you’ve had enough of faulty camping equipment, uncomfortable outhouses, and loud neighbors to share the camp with, why don’t you try something different this year and book a beautiful yurt or a couple of spheric tents for a memorable weekend with your family and friends?
