Day 1:

After enjoying breakfast, you will be picked up from Moshi and taken to the Marangu Gate. After you complete the necessary formalities, you will begin your hike through the dense rainforest. In addition to the abundant vegetation, you will have the opportunity to observe some primates when you go to Mandara Hut. After resting, you and your guide will head to the Maundi Crater where you will get a wonderful view of the Kenyan interior.

Day 2:

After starting your day with an early morning breakfast, you will set off on the road. Soon after leaving Mandara Hut you will go to the edge of the forest and enter the moorland and moorland zone. after 4-6 hours, at an altitude of 3700 m, you will see Horombo Hut. From the hut you will have fantastic views of Mawenzi, Kibo and the wide plain of the Maasai steppe.

Day 3:

Today is a real challenge. Today’s route passes the “Last Water Point” followed by the so-called The “saddle”, which is an almost vegetation-free plateau that connects the main peak of Kibo with Mawenzi. The destination of this day is the Kibo Hut shelter, which is reached within 5-6 hours. Here you will eat an early evening meal, the night will be short.

Day 4:

This day is the peak stage of the so-called “Big Day”. The last climb will start around midnight which will be long and tiring. At an altitude of 5,220 m you will pass the Hans Meyer Cave. As the sun rises, you will find yourself at Gillman’s Point (5681 m) – the rim of the Kilimanjaro crater. Then, after 1-2 hours of hiking, you will ascend Uhuru Peak at 5895m. Upon return to Kibo Hut, a warm meal awaits you, followed by a 1-2 hour break before returning to Horombo Hut.

Day 5:

The final stage takes you through the moorland area to the Mandara Refuge (2700m), where you will enjoy a warm lunch. You will pass the tropical rainforest and return to the gate of the Kilimanjaro National Park (1,860m) again at any moment. After you say goodbye to the mountain guides, a short transfer will take you back to your hotel in Moshi. There you can devote yourself to celebrating your success at the top of Kilimanjaro.
